ChessHelps is a charity organization created to alleviate poverty through chess.

The funds raised through our charity chess tournaments go to Kiva.org. KIVA is a micro-lending nonprofit organization that gives small loans to people in all regions of the world in order to help them start businesses, gain education, etc. The idea is to help these people lift themselves out of poverty. We aim to assist Kiva in their goal by providing them with the means to help people. Here are some stats from my KIVA page.

Some of the funds also go to BASIS Chandler and their Annual Teacher Fund. This fund is an investment in the faculty, which directly impacts the quality of education in the classrooms. These funds allow the school to recruit and retain the highest quality teachers through performance-based bonuses, and reward them for their effectiveness in the classroom.
