Second Annual ChessHelps Charity Tournament
August 29th, 2015
BASIS Chandler
The 2nd Annual ChessHelps tournament was a grand success. It was less daunting than the first one as we had all gained experience on how to run a tournament and what needs to happen to make it a success. I reached out to several local newspapers to promote the event and here are links and pics to some of them.

Over a hundred and thirty people showed up to support our cause! Grandmaster Rojelio Barcenilla, IMs Alexey Dulger and Shahin Mohandesi, and FMs Pedram Atoufi, Joel Banawa, and Joan Olivera all showed up as well, with many other master level players. However, all of our sections were extremely tough and it was a real fight for everybody. Thanks to everyone who came out!
I would like to thank all the coaches and clubs and the tournament directors for helping me out with the tournament this year. My good friend Levi (XieXin) Wang who played in the OPEN section became a USCF MASTER in this Tournament. Congrats Levi. Total funds raised this year was $6000.
